Tell us about your education and continuing training.
My journey into bodywork began at the Cortiva Massage Institute in Seattle, where I received excellent training that expanded my understanding of the body. It opened my mind to diverse principles and philosophies of bodywork, shaping the way I approach healing. Since graduating in 2011, I have dedicated myself to being a committed medical massage therapist, focusing on injury rehabilitation through a holistic approach.
To further enhance my skills and knowledge, I’ve pursued certification programs and studied with exceptional teachers, including:
Applied Kinesiology with John Maguire
Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute
Visceral Manipulation at the Barral Institute
Lymphatic Drainage with Elisa DiFalco
Currently, I am also working toward specializing in concussion therapy, to provide more targeted and effective care for individuals recovering from head injuries. Each of these experiences has deepened my understanding of the body’s intricate systems, allowing me to offer treatments that are tailored to my clients' unique needs.

How did you discover massage therapy and what attracted you to it?
At the encouragement of my sister, I toured several massage schools to explore my options. When I visited Cortiva, I immediately felt a deep sense of support and understanding. Their comprehensive knowledge of the body, along with their clear explanations of how and why it responds the way it does, truly resonated with me. I was impressed by their approach, which blended scientific expertise with a genuine passion for helping others achieve better health and well-being. This experience solidified my decision, as I knew Cortiva was the place where I could grow and develop the skills necessary to make a real difference in people's lives.

What do you want people to know about their bodies and self-care?
Our bodies are in a constant state of evolution, change, and regeneration, with immense potential for healing and growth. Equally, our minds play a vital role in supporting our journey toward health and wellness. The thoughts we cultivate can have a profound impact on the health and function of our bodies. Ask yourself: are your thoughts guiding you toward stagnation and dysfunction, or are they encouraging health and repair? Could your body benefit from more mindful attention to the habits of your mind?
Remember, our bodies are made to move. Make sure to breathe deeply, stay hydrated, and keep your body active. Dedicate time to training your body through strength, coordination, flexibility, and balance to optimize your mobility and overall well-being. Pay attention to any imbalances that arise from repetitive activities or a sedentary lifestyle, and be creative in your workouts. Whether you enjoy dancing, yoga, or simply taking a walk, find activities that challenge your body and bring you joy.

What is your favorite part of the body to work on?
The nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, plays a crucial role in how our body senses and responds to pain. Often, chronic pain arises from mixed or misinterpreted signals within this complex system, as the body mistakenly sends messages of distress even when there is no ongoing injury. These signals can be the nervous system’s attempt to protect the body, but over time, they can lead to persistent pain that doesn’t necessarily have a clear cause. By reprogramming or retraining these signals, we can help the nervous system function more effectively, reducing or even eliminating chronic pain. This approach focuses on restoring balance and clarity within the nervous system, allowing the body to heal and respond in a healthier, more natural way.

Favorite thing to do outside of bodywork?
Outside of massage and bodywork, I love hiking with my dogs and exploring the outdoors. I also have a deep passion for social dancing, especially Argentine tango, salsa, bachata, swing, kizomba, zouk, and contra. Dancing allows me to connect with others, stay active, and express myself in a way that brings joy and energy into my life.
